Inkscape 0.48 arrived recently to the public after 9 long months of development. Years ago, when Windows vs Linux started, it could be seen were the work of comparison between what to use on both systems to do certain jobs. Windows on level point of graphic design, always get's the best result ... but the advantage is narrowing, all thanks to this and other great applications such as Inkscape.

Joomla! and LESS

August 03, 2010 By Tomasz Dziuda Published in Development

Templates for Joomla! have a specific feature – they are quite extended, especially when it comes to CSS code; while creating a template it is essential to style standard subpages, additional modules, components. The more we want to care about the details, the more the amount of code rises where some parts multiply. Therefore, I have been using CSS pre-compilers for some time to create templates. One of such tools is LESS. I will show you how to use LESS in a template which is based on the latest version of T3 Framework used in our templates and I will show how to use its possibilities.

Our new template will be released between 27-29 July and based for the first time on modified version of T3 framework which differs from previous version. Originally, we wanted to create templates just based on 2.0 version of this tool but later on we have decided to change our minds and choose another solution.

We have decided to add some functionalities to the framework version we have used and change the way of calculation columns’ width. Everything is done in order to be consistent to the previous version of framework and, at the same time, introduce some essential changes which are needed from our point of view.
